Position Summary : Behavior Interventionist provides in-home and community behavioral support and intervention to youth who are currently in the foster care system and who are at risk for placement instability due to behavioral health needs. Services will be provided to youth, and their placement provider and / or permanency family.
This position is a part of our Mockingbird Family Grant. A grant to help foster parents create a sense of community where they can be supported by one another. Our goal is to help youth experience greater placement stability as well as creating a larger capacity of homes able to accommodate youth with higher acuity needs.
All employees must be at least 21 years of age
Training : 40 hour Behavioral Analysist training will occur from KU.
Locations : Will serve families in the Leavenworth and Wyandotte County areas. Some meetings held in Olathe or Topeka.
Schedule : MUST have evening and some weekend hour availability. Schedule will be around children’s schedules with an approximate, flexible schedule of 12-8PM or 1-9PM during the week with alternating weekends. Some remote work can be completed for paperwork, but majority of work will be in-person in family homes.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required
Licensure / Certification : Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
Experience and Skills (Preferred) :
- Prior experience in healthcare and / or welfare services
- Prior experience working with clients having complex mental health issues at risk of hospitalization
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility in assigned working hours; including evenings and / or weekends
