About the Role
As a key member of our Legal Department, you will provide legal expertise to support internal clients, safeguard our organization, and proactively manage risks. You will work closely with leadership and external partners to navigate legal challenges in child welfare, healthcare law, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.

What We’re Looking For
Education:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
Experience & Skills:
- Licensed to practice law in Kansas (Missouri license preferred)
- At least two years of legal practice experience preferred
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel, contract review, and litigation support
- Represent KVC and employees in legal proceedings
- Develop training programs for staff and foster parents
- Collaborate with state agencies, courts, and external legal teams
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing requirements, and internal policies
