Position Summary : The Family Support Worker provides support and assistance to Case Managers on their work to facilitate timely permanency for children and families in need of care. Location : Topeka KSBonus : $2,000 sign on bonus associated with this position for only external candidates.Education : GED or High School DiplomaExperience : Experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk children and older youth required. Intermediate computer skills required. Licensure / Certification : Current, valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance required. Essential Duties : Drive to provide transportation and visitation support for clients using fleet vehicles.Supervise parent / child and sibling visits; assess family functioning progress.Serve as a positive role model for clients and families.Assist clients in accessing community resources (housing, utilities, mental health, healthcare).Teach parents daily living skills (budgeting, housekeeping, parenting techniques).Provide in-home support to children and families.Complete and submit case activity logs promptly as per DCF requirements.Participate in case management meetings and planning conferences.Review and process case plans for DCF and court submission.Attend court hearings, presenting professionally and communicating effectively.Ensure accuracy of reports and address missing or incorrect data.Monitor and update CMS to keep case information current.Assist in preparing for DCF audits.Perform various duties to ensure smooth workflow and contract compliance.Attend all required trainings.
