Position Summary:
- The food service worker will prepare the recommended meals for the children in Camber’s care. The environment can be compared to the lunchroom of a small school for children with behavioral health issues. Duties include arranging food and beverages on steam tables, a la carte trays or mobile carts to make items available; clean utensils, cooking and storage equipment; and clean and sanitize serving areas each day.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
- One to three months experience or training in the food service industry, including food preparation and storage.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience providing daily food to children in a residential treatment facility or school preferred, as well as food preparation, handling, and storage. Must be comfortable using Window based software and email.
Certification/Licensure:
- Valid Drivers License
- Valid Auto Insurance
- At least 21 years old
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Operations Department, and in conjunction with a Dietician, the Food Service Worker will:
- Prepare the recommended meals for the children and adolescents in Camber’s care
- Arrange food and beverages as needed on steam tables or coolers
- Prepare trays and mobile carts as needed to make items available
- Maintain current knowledge of and practice safe food handling, preparation, and storage
- Ensure correct refrigeration temperatures
- Clean utensils, cooking, and storage equipment
- Clean and sanitize serving areas each day
- Set up and break down tables as needed depending on client census or special events
- Model professional and courteous behavior to the children and adolescents being served
- Practice conduct that displays respect for all Camber colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, or veteran status.
