The Safety and Security Representative provides support to direct care providers by engaging youth in problem solving safety and security concerns. They will assist with direct care as needed by meeting patient needs, facilitating activities, and modeling safe and positive behavior while also using effective problem solving skills.
This position will provide crisis intervention and initiate emergency response plans when necessary.
Provide back-up support to Shift Leads, acting in a leadership role when necessary
Schedule : Tuesday- Saturday, 2pm to 10 : 30pm
Education : High school diploma or GED
Licensure / Certification : Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Experience / Skills : At least one year of related experience and / or training
Intermediate computer skills
Duties :
Supervise unit activity and client movement
Provide crisis intervention and initiate emergency response plans when necessary
Maintain a safe environment in the QRTP and / or community that will support child(ren) to feel safe, cared for and nurtured
Organize and implement safe, developmentally appropriate activities for children
When needed, transport children to / from placements, appointments, schools and / or visits. Use of fleet vehicles is required if
available; vehicles should be kept clean and free of debris and clutter
Ensure youth have basic care needs met, including belongings, hygiene and medications
Communicate concerns and other pertinent information to child’s assigned case team
Exhibit a high level of courtesy and professionalism and ensure confidentiality
Work as a member of a team per KVC Values
Serve as a mandated reporter of suspected abuse / neglect
Provide back-up support to Shift Leads, acting in a leadership role when necessary
Complete and submit case activity logs when required
Attend and complete all required in-service training and coursework on an annual basis per agency requirements
May assist with monitoring all medication administration to ensure all medication is accounted for and dispensed correctly
Comply with all DCF licensing regulations
