What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Visiting Specialist position at KVC Missouri?
The Home Visiting Specialist provides support services to families that are affiliated using various social work and educational methods. This position is responsible for developing trusting, nurturing and supportive relationships with families over a long-term intervention. Will provide strength-based, child focused, family centered services based on the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and families in a social services role
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services or family development field of study.
- Associate’s degree in child development with 60 college credit hours.
- Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment
Schedule:
- This position will service our New Madrid and Mississippi County area.
- This position offers flexible work hours, with mainly hybrid / remote field work.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service focus, excellent time management, oral and written communication skills.
- Independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Word and email applications.
- Ability to work productively and respectfully with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Capable of functioning independently, practicing good judgement and discretion in decision making and promote positive parenting and child development while reducing risk of child maltreatment.
- Demonstrated willingness to work a non-structured flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
