What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at KVP Energy Services?
Job Summary:
The KVP Energy Services Fleet Mechanic is the repairs, service and maintenance of
KVP’s vehicles. The Fleet Mechanic performs general labor and operates equipment in
the shop. This position requires 24-hour emergency on call scheduling availability.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use the fleet management software Fleetio to keep track of the maintenance of
fleet in shop. - Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble
shooting and repairs, steering, chassis,cooling systems of the company’s fleet. - Responsible for repairs and maintenance on aerial devices, cranes, dozers, and
other industry specific equipment. - Perform planned maintenance and inspections on vehicles timely.
- Operate and test repaired equipment and confirm that specifications are met.
- Diagnose equipment for repairs through regular inspections of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repair performed on vehicles.
- Responsible for manual labor, including the use of tools required for mounting
toolboxes, license plates, GPS units, registration stickers, toll tags, etc. - Maintain knowledge of all FMCSA, DOT, and the State of Texas regulations to
comply with all state and federal laws. - Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor in a professional and
efficient manner.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED; technical automotive trade certification preferred.
- 5 years of direct experience as a mechanic.
- 2 years wire and stick welding; preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
- Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Required Commercial Driving License (CDL)
- Familiar with part vendors; preferred
Special Requirements:
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time required.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
