Medical Coder- Hybrid

KWB Pathology Associates is seeking an experienced Pathology Certified Professional Medical Coder to join our team! We are a 100% pathologist-owned laboratory that has served the greater Big Bend area of Florida for over half a century. We strive for excellence in caring for our patients, clients, and employees.

This is a hybrid position. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Pay is $23.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Two years’ Pathology coding experience required

• Five or more years coding experience preferred

• AAPC certification required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding guidelines

• Knowledge of basic human anatomy

• Proficient in medical terminology

• Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Primary Responsibilities/Functions:

• Providing correct ICD10 and CPT codes and modifiers for all pathology services

• Educating physicians on documentation requirements for proper coding

• Posting charges, insurance payments and patient payments

• Verifying eligibility

• Filing insurance claims, working denials through to completion and filing appeals     

• Completing electronic deposits

• Collections
