Responsibilities :
- As an active member of the Management Team, you will direct the estimating and pre-construction process for projects in the United States.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the full life cycle of the estimating process including labor, material, and equipment rates, estimate setup, estimate archiving, and current productivity rates, among others.
- Responsible for all aspects of estimating and overall process for projects including pre-estimate meetings, site visits, kick-off meetings, and estimate archiving.
- Conduct a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identify any associated risks.
- Complete a full quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials required to complete the project as per contract drawing and specifications.
- Works autonomously and provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to maximize efficiency and productivity of estimators.
- Ensure project and Company safety standards and environmental programs are adhered to within estimates.
- Manage the post-estimate / pre-construction efforts until completing an internal hand-over to Operations.
- Maintain current contacts, and development new contacts, in the construction industry with a view to sourcing new steel erection opportunities in Washington State and other US markets.
- Be an ambassador of the Company both internally and externally while liaising with Clients, Owners, and Unions.
- Mentor, coach, and supervise Field Engineers / Engineers In Training, Estimators, and Project Managers.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities through relationships. KWH is currently looking to expand operations within Washington and Canada, plus new markets in Oregon, California, Alaska, and other parts of the Western United States.
