What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder - 3rd Shift position at Kwik Lok Corporation?
This position supports Kwik Lok production activities through the manufacturing of Kwik Lok closure. This position upholds the Kwik Lok Corporation philosophies through dedication to continuing improvement of quality, food safety, integrity and hard work. This is an hourly, non-exempt position and reports directly to the Production Manager.

- Operating granulator, recycling production and extrusion waste into regrind material for use in extrusion.
- Make sure that material is free from contamination, such as metal, paper, other colored scraps, etc…
- All scrap will be stored in the scrap area designated when it comes from Kwik Lok and any leftovers from the grinding operation after a color change on the grinder will be returned to the scrap storage area.
- Ensure lids are in place on all regrind barrels, boxes and tote bins.
- Clean assigned work area daily and during a color change to ensure clean work environment.
- Follow all company established food safety and quality guidelines and procedures.
- Additional Functions as assigned and needed for the good of the organization.
- Arrives on time for their shift which is Sunday - Thursday 11:00P – 7:00A
- Dress in appropriate clothing and shoes, ready to work.
- Operators will start shift off by collecting all the materials they need for their shift.
- Operators will begin grinding plastic as soon as possible.
- Operate the equipment for its intended purpose and use care as to not damage the equipment.
- It is the expectation that the machines will continue running during the entire shift (except breaks and lunch).
- It is the expectation that if a grinder is down, the operator will assist the extruder in another manner. This can include cleaning the work area, prepping for the next roll, working on paperwork, whatever may be beneficial to the extruder to do their job.
- Absolutely no food or gum at the machines.
- Only clear water bottles filled with water are allowed at the machines.
