Pay Range: $17.49 to $24.48
Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. Kwik Trip, Inc. operates Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery Stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa with over 30,000 coworkers company wide. Kwik Trip’s IT Service Center is seeking a IT Service Desk Intern to join our IT Service Center.
Role:
- The IT Service Desk Intern is responsible for assisting the Helpdesk in providing fast and effective support to Kwik Trip end users. This person will learn ServiceNow, our ticketing system, and will work with Helpdesk coworkers in resolving incidents and tasks. In addition, this intern will assist the Helpdesk in the creation and maintenance of our documentation. Finally, this person will receive training on handling tickets via a phone queue and provide technical assistance over the phone.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Learn how to use ServiceNow to work on tickets.
- Work with the Helpdesk to respond to customer support incidents in a quick and efficient manner.
- Learn the processes that the Helpdesk is responsible for and complete the related tasks.
- Maintain, create, and update technical documentation in ServiceNow.
- Detail accurate information in the support request to provide timely updates.
Qualifications:
- This individual should currently be enrolled in an IT related program.
Candidates should possess knowledge of the following:
- Basic proficiency with troubleshooting hardware and software (overall troubleshooting approach)
- Intermediate proficiency with Windows 10 (how to run commands, task manager, etc.)
- Basic networking concepts (how to troubleshoot networking issues, ping, etc.)
- Basic proficiency Microsoft O365 (basic understanding of Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Basic understanding of Active Directory (what it does, how groups and OUs work, etc.)
Additional qualifications include:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with end users.
- Strong analytical skills that enable this person to collect information and interpret data to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Ability to multitask and perform work in an organized, timely manner.
Physical qualifications:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stoop/kneel/crouch as needed for carrying and setting up equipment.
Work Schedule:
- This is a paid internship starting in ***DATE TBD***. Interested candidates must be willing to work 20 hours per week. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, daytime hours and must be scheduled in at least 4-hour segments. It is important to note that we offer flexibility with school scheduling.
