Agricultural and Warehouse Supervisor

KWS Seeds LLC. is looking for an Agricultural and Warehouse Supervisor to join the team in Tangent, OR! The role caries responsibilties for managing sugar beet steck quality, inventory, and distribution at the Oregon warehouse. Additionally, they will manage fields for pre-commercial seed production.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support the steck nursery planting and field maintenance - seed sowing, counting, rouging, data entry, etc.
• Assist in AZ and OR steck harvest maximizing steck health.
• Locate and secure field isolations for seed production.
• Manage and execute cultural field practices in a timely manner (field preparation, chemical/fertilizer application, irrigation management, etc.) meeting seed quality and yield standards.
• Operate, maintain, and transport heavy equipment such as a tractor (w/implements), sprayer, combine, planter, etc.
• Fulfill required documentation through seed production life cycle using required media.
• Maintain a positive relationship with growers, seed associations, and general public.
• Manage and train labor crews and other field/warehouse employees as needed.
• Manage the Oregon warehouse’s steck quality, inventory, and distribution. Use the provided inventory/logistics systems as required to support these functions.
• Work with various commercial freight companies and company staff to track/schedule shipments.
• Ensure the company handbook and safety policies are followed and PPE is used correctly.
• Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business.
• Meet attendance requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Agriculture or Logistics related field.
• Demonstrated experience operating, loading and driving a loaded trailer.
• Possess or ability to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicator’s License.
• Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with Windows based applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in agriculture.
• Crop management experience.
• Experience in SAP.

Work Environment:

• Travel - miles driven per year could exceed 30,000/year.
• Out of state travel required.
