Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The position will manage and supervise the daily operations of KHESLC's Student Aid Branch. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
Duties
- Manages and supervises the staff and daily operations of the student aid branch to ensure compliance with current federal and state laws and regulations.
- Develops goals, objectives, and assigns duties to branch personnel; oversees branch staff training; evaluates job performances annually.
- Assists with the development of the agency operating budget for the branch; prepares data to support student aid programs in the agency’s biennial budget request; monitors expenditures from branch-related funds.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures related to programs administered by the branch.
- Maintains a detailed knowledge of student aid databases and works closely with Office of Technology staff to develop, maintain, and enhance programs, databases, and websites.
- Reviews, evaluates, and recommends methods for cost-effective improvement of specific procedures used in an operational area.
- Develops, revises, and supervises the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reports, forms and informational materials; writes articles and provides information for publication.
- Supervises the preparation & revision of internal and external program procedures manuals.
- Attends, presents at, and coordinates student aid training sessions and professional development meetings; responds to public student aid inquiries; drafts letters for senior staff signature.
- Serves as backup to Director, when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Four years experience in student financial aid, educational administration, public administration, or financial administration, which must include three years of administrative experience in student financial aid.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Experience working with IT staff and technical and system functions including queries, SQLs and database files.
