Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pharmacy Service Technician to support pharmacy operations and provide exceptional service for automated dispensing technology. In this role, you will ensure seamless functionality, troubleshoot issues, and deliver on-site support in compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead pre-implementation medication loading in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform first-call troubleshooting for automated dispensing technology and escalate issues per service recovery guidelines.
- Conduct weekly routine maintenance on automated dispensing units and medication rooms, adhering to the On-Site Checklist.
- Document all service events, activities, and training in the provided ticket tracking system.
- Collaborate with external service experts for complex troubleshooting.
- Communicate daily with nursing staff to address automated dispensing unit issues.
- Act as a liaison for assigned pharmacy inquiries across various facilities.
- Maintain environmental specifications related to automated dispensing units.
- Stock and monitor inventory within automated dispensing units; reorder as needed.
- Perform periodic medical cart audits, remove expired medications, and manage reorder dates.
- Ensure automated dispensing units meet operational expectations by coordinating with facilities.
- Execute Disaster Recovery protocols for non-functional dispensing systems.
- Train and retrain staff on automated dispensing unit use and pharmacy procedures.
- Provide prompt and professional customer service to personnel at equipment placement and central hub pharmacy locations.
- Replace refillable supplies on pharmacy equipment.
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities as required.
- Support pharmacy hub operations, including canister filling, order entry, and triage.
- Participate in nursing meetings when appropriate.
MUST HAVE:
· Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in Kentucky
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Familiarity with automated dispensing technology preferred.
· Flexibility to fulfill on-call responsibilities.
