Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the construction crew, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently oversee and manage employees within the department or area of responsibility to achieve maximum productivity and performance from the team.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Encourage employees to actively pursue their goals and maintain a healthy work-life balance
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the construction site, including scheduling, planning, and coordinating work activities such as ordering materials, tools and equipment deliveries for the job.3
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, labor, equipment, and materials.
- Inspect work performed to ensure it meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on the job site promptly and effectively.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are used properly and maintained in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in construction management is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using construction management software and other relevant tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
