About the Start Up: The entrepreneurs who successfully built a leading retail health care organizations in urgent care and veterinary care, have set their sights on the high growth Medical Spa Category.
As the Controller, you will be a core part of the leadership team, and responsible for developing and implementing the financial infrastructure for the organization.
To succeed in the role you will need to demonstrate financial leadership, provide direction and analysis to your colleagues and investment partners, including, but not limited to, developing the frameworks for and implementing financial reporting, financial controls and compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, as well as collaborating with other leaders to build budgets, flash reports, and develop KPIs, among other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the finance function including all accounting operations, both strategically and tactically, as well as contribute to the development and maintenance of the P&L, including: Financial reporting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Designated as Company corporate treasurer. Responsible for cash management, ensuring a sufficient level of cash is available to fund growth (from business operations and the Company’s investors)
- Collaborate with the other company leaders on developing a business intelligence capability that enables achievement of KPIs, solves business issues, improves performance, enhancing both effectiveness and efficiency of the organization and supports scale.
- Work closely with company leaders to apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision making.
- Respond to information requests with thorough, organized and fact-based work products supporting key observations, assumptions and conclusions.
- Set up and oversee the company’s Finance and HR Information Systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSc/BA in accounting or relevant field.
- 4 Years of Experience with Accounting and Financial Analysis
Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- CPA is a plus but not required
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Intellectual curiosity with a desire to stretch capabilities to grow self and the organization.
- Enthusiasm for the player / coach role, knowing that their function as individual contributor is equally as important as their experience building and leading others.
- Experience in treasury / cash management functions.
- Experience supporting new business models.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Thrives on collaboration and operates with a strong internal stakeholder mentality.
- Experience building high performing teams, driving accountability and performance.
- Has proven ability to think strategically, plan effectively and implement well; be detailed, results oriented, while managing multiple tasks against deadlines.
