Job Summary
The CDL Truck Driver - (Yard Dog) is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within the yard of a logistics or warehouse facility. This role involves maneuvering trucks in tight spaces, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The driver will collaborate with warehouse staff to facilitate loading and unloading operations, maintain accurate records of yard movements, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized yard. A valid CDL and strong attention to safety and detail are essential for success in this position.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Uses proper packing and handling methods for safest shipments
· Transports products between company facilities
· Keeps accurate reference records, including use of company databases or other IT applications
· Must operate forklift in the performance of duties
· May assist in building crates in the department
· Maintains a clear working area; observes safety regulations and precautions
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Valid CDL-A license and a good driving record
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Must be familiar with local transportation routes and state/local driving requirements
· Has knowledge of all parts and product
· Ability to keep accurate and legible records as required, including use of IT applications

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift material up to 55 lbs.; lifting is frequent. Must be able to climb in and out of truck frequently, stand/walk on a concrete floor up to 12 hours a day if needed, and bend, kneel, list as required
· Forklift handling is heavy, often over-sized loads in high traffic plant. 4-D lift truck experience is preferred
