Director of Operations, Manufacturing

Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Manager, Plant Operations oversees the daily production operations of three manufacturing facilities. The role is critical in ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing environment. The incumbent will develop production schedules, manage staff, and ensure that customer expectations and internal goals are met.
 

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Monitor operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance.

·       Develop production schedules aligned with internal and customer expectations.

·       Oversee the hiring, training, and management of production staff.

·       Formulate manufacturing policies, forecast manpower and facility requirements.

·       Maintain inventory controls and develop production time and quality standards.

·       Handle engineering and technical requirements for production, including tooling, manufacturing engineering, production sequences, and material routings.

·       Analyze methods to reduce operating time and costs and optimize product design for manufacturing.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:

·       Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       At least 10 years of related experience.

·       Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

·       Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
·       Primarily in a manufacturing plant environment.

·       Exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, and varying temperatures.

·       Physical requirements include standing, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).

·       May require weekend, night shifts, or on-call work as part of regular duties.

·       Occasional travel may be required.
