Job Summary
The Specialist I – Hook Up is responsible for wiring refrigeration racks according to shop orders and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role requires proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, understanding basic electrical concepts, and safely utilizing tools to install electrical components accurately. The position emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Must read, understand, and apply knowledge of wiring diagrams.
- Must understand basic electrical concepts, legends, work orders and bill of materials in order to properly wire refrigeration racks to customer specifications.
- Must safely and effectively use tools for the job, identify electrical components, install solenoids, and have knowledge of wire sizes and types.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have 12 months relative electrical experience.
- Must be able to read, write, accurately read a tape measure, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Able to work independently to maintain production, efficiency, quality and discipline.
- Must use appropriate skills, required equipment, and tools, and accurately read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Must work with minimal supervision and maximum initiative to assure that the job gets done in a timely and effective manner.

- Wire racks, standing and often working in position of reaching overhead.
- Some lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Must be fully mobile: able to reach, bend and twist, grasp, pull, push, squat, bend at the knees and waist, crawl, lift.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week as required.
- Crimping tools, wire strippers, Phillips head and flat head screwdrivers.
