Jr. Mechanical Engineer

The Junior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and development of refrigerated cabinets and thermal insulation systems, specifically for the glass production of doors and frames. This individual will assist with creating structural designs, drawings, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The engineer will work closely with various departments to support new product development projects and gain exposure to all aspects of mechanical engineering in the refrigeration industry.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Design the structural components of refrigerated cabinets, including sheet metal parts, piping, glass, aluminum, or plastic profiles

·       Develop and maintain 2D and 3D drawings for structural parts, including plastic vacuum-formed and injection-molded components

·       Ensure compliance with applicable laws and technical standards in product design

·       Document product designs with technical drawings, bills of material, and other technical documentation

·       Support the creation of product manuals and technical data sheets

·       Participate in project teams for new product development, managing multiple projects simultaneously

·       Assist in the selection of product components and work closely with vendors to obtain technical specifications

·       Travel may be required to gain training and exposure to the various aspects of glass production and product development

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

·       2-5 years of experience as a designer, preferably in product development for a large industry or group

·       Strong knowledge of CAD software with experience in 2D and 3D design (SolidWorks experience is a plus)

·       Basic understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or ERP systems is a plus

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

·       Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

·       Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to document complex situations effectively

·       Ability to manage multiple requests from different departments and handle conflicting prioritie
