Job Summary
Assists departmental supervisor/manager in the performance of his/her duties as assigned by that supervisor/manager regarding those Associates within the group assigned. Achievements will be measured by safety, quality, timeliness, productivity, attendance and teamwork.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs work as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Instructs and trains new Associates.
- Monitors materials within the department.
- Assists in work assignments and the associated paperwork.
- Maintain records of phone/email communications for tracking purposes.
- In the absence of the supervisor, fills in on a limited basis to maintain production, efficiency, quality and discipline.
- Contributes to team effort by focusing on achieving results that are linked to company goals and objectives.
- Maintains proper housekeeping.
- Knows, observes, and ensures safety regulations and precautions.
- Schedule inbound/outbound freight & monitor deliveries in a safe and timely manner
- Accurate & timely maintenance on all required documentation and reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience as an Inspection or quality technician
- Possess a high energy level, have ability to multi-task. Be team oriented. Possess discipline in processes and procedures.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have basic computer skills to include SAP, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Capable of performing the work in the area at a high level.
- Working knowledge of IT solutions, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, & BPCS.
- Able to read tape measure, perform calculations, write legibly, read and interpret specifications and assembly schematics.
- Knowledge, or ability to quickly learn, parts & part numbers and procedures
- Consistently supports and models company core values.
- Working knowledge of contemporary manufacturing/distribution processes, such as lean manufacturing.
- Must display sound judgment and appropriate leadership skills.
- Ability to operate forklift safely and efficiently, handling heavy, over-sized loads.

License/Certification
Preferred: Forklift
- Exposure to open bays and weather extremes.
- Frequent lifting up to 20 lbs., two person lift up to 60 pounds.
- Walking and standing on a concrete floor up to 12 hours a day/ up to 7 days a week, depending on production needs.
- Computer, Pallet jack, Forklift, 16' tape, 16 oz. hammer, nail gun, hand saws, and hand power tools.
