Job Summary
Machine Operators safely and efficiently operate sheet metal equipment, either a cell of equipment, FMS or AFS as assigned. Must read and interpret instructions and diagrams, effectively apply math skills, experience, training, and communication skills to monitor, control, and manage tooling and product.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Operate a turret/brake/ or similar machine to bend, fold, stamp sheet metal parts for refrigeration cases
· Make control adjustments to keep part production accurate and within time standards
· Use tape measures, blueprints and/or shop orders to accurately make parts for the production departments to minimize past due orders, maximize the availability of scheduled and expedited parts
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Previous experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Must observe all safety regulations and precautions associated with the Sheet Metal Department.?
· Requires understanding of basic program concepts and computer literacy.?
· Possesses basic mathematical skills in practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.?
· Good oral and written communication required.
· Must be able to read, write and perform fractional math calculations and measure both linear and angular attributes. ?
· Must know how to read blueprints and be able to read and interpret shop orders, diagrams and equipment instructions.?
· Must accurately read a ruler and protractor.?
