Job Summary
The TIG Welder performs both simple and complex welding tasks on metal parts using TIG welding techniques. This role requires expertise in the welding properties of various metals and alloys, as well as the correct use of welding equipment to ensure proper penetration and fusion strength. The welder must be able to interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and operation tickets and work with high precision to meet specified tolerances.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Must be able to use the necessary welding jigs.
· Must be able to select proper rod electrode, and set machine for type of material to be welded.
· Must observe proper safety precautions while welding.
· Should meet production standard output under only general supervision on or before end of progression period.
· Must be able to do TIG welding while meeting safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Requires 1 year experience and/or combination of experience and technical training/certification.
· Skills demonstration required.

· Must be able to read, write, accurately read a tape measure, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
· Able to work independently to maintain production, efficiency, quality and discipline.
· Must use appropriate skills, required equipment, and tools, and accurately read and interpret blueprints.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Wear required PPE, including steel toed safety shoes, at all times, follow 6S procedures, participate in preventative injury exercises, and comply with all job-related work instructions.
· Install siding on racks, often working in position of reaching overhead, squatting, bending and working on top of units.
· Maximum weight to lift normally up to 60 lbs., peak of 75 lbs.
· Must be able to work up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week as required.
Equipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position
· 100’ tape measure, ball peen hammer, large 20 pound dead blow hammer, tin snips, welding square, magnetic drill, welding chipper, welding pliers, chisel, electric portable metal grinder.
