Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job title : Material Handling
Location : Lewiston ME
12 months contract on W2

NOTE: This is a Handyman kind of role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct general maintenance and site upkeep.
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform installations, assembling, repairs, and replacements.
• Handle emergency maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Operate maintenance equipment safely.
• Keep records of all maintenance and preservation activities.
• Manage maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ensure safety with traffic signals and barriers.
• Receive and reconcile incoming materials with purchase orders.
• Handle freight, equipment movement, and minor repairs.
• Maintain proper storage of hazardous substances and delicate materials.
• Secure site materials.
• Other Activities:
• Address nagging/punch items and supervise smaller contractors.
• Assist in thorough cleaning for valve installation.
• Perform any additional tasks relating to maintenance, material handling, or site acceptance.

Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Valid driver’s license
• Prefer to have Forklift certification. If not, Hitachi will assume the cost for the certification.
• Skills:
• Good communication skills in English.
• Proactive in identifying and solving problems.
• Organized, diligent, and reliable.
• Customer-oriented with good health and safety awareness.
• Willingness to undergo job training and adhere to safety regulations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
