What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Area Supervisor position at Kyyba Inc?
The Material area supervisor will be responsible for managing small work teams in a unionized, warehousing environment. Responsible for ensuring team safety; building teams and training / allocating Client; driving and implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reach throughput and cost targets; and ensuring team morale. The selected candidate’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics.
Provide a safe, secure, and engaging work environment that fosters team member involvement and creativity.
Provide feedback, coaching, and training to associates as needed.
Analyze root causes and execute countermeasures for daily work challenges while implementing safe work practices and preventative countermeasures.
Utilize kaizen activities to drive continuous process improvements.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety with team members, peers, and senior management.
Monitor and track parts receipts and deliveries.
Record and manage in system requirements that communicate with the Assembly plants.
Ensure the shipping plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implements continuous improvement activities.
Ensure a safe workplace, leads the Team to improve Safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated Safety tools and procedures.
Ensure the right allocation of the people on the job, manage absenteeism, trains and build teams.
Actively participate and lead kaizen project activities centered on Safety, Cost, Quality and Throughput improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.
Requirements:
100% Onsite
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or relevant bachelor's degree and comparable experience 2 years' experience in Supply Chain Management or similar functions
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
Previous experience working in a union environment
Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
