Description
The primary responsibility of this role is Wire Harness Circuit Design
- Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the electronic system 2 department's objective to design and develop wire harness.
- Responsible for the design and application of circuits and related components required for the vehicle electrical power source distribution and earthing , across multiple vehicles and mobility platforms. This includes translating multiple system requirements into actual wiring design such as fuse selection, cable type and size selection, as well as connector specifications that meet quality, performance, cost and development timing for each vehicle.
- Work in circuitry team to achieve all project deliverables
- Design and develop wire harness ( engine, engine room main, instrument panel, floor, door, roof) for North American vehicle programs.
- Create sub-system wiring diagram , fuse load list, grounding system layout and wire harness drawings based on system component specification.
- Interface with system component engineers such as bus system (OBII, CAN, etc.), head lamp, air bag ECU, audio, engine fuel ignition EC U, etc.
- Formulating drawings on CAD system ( wire harness Cabling Design ).
- Support and trouble shoot wiring harness related issues during prototype build stage.
- Participate in team to resolve development and current production problems. Need to be able to work with supplier / related groups to identify problem root cause, clearly present results of findings to circuit leader.
- Work to schedules in a timely manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline (with fundamental electrical design knowledge), Electrical preferred (Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering Degree with electrical engineering experience is acceptable).
- Experience with 2D electrical CAD software such as Zuken Cabling Designer, Capital, Mentor Graphics etc.
- 5 or more years of experience as an electrical design engineer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- MS degree in Engineering.
- Experience in vehicle electronics development .
- Experience in wire harness development is an advantage
