Site Supervisor-Residential Supports
Definition of Position
Responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive and healthy environment. While providing direct care assistance and training to people with developmental disabilities who live in residential settings, based on each individual’s skills, preferences, needs, choices, and values. Provides opportunities for individuals to be as independent as possible, codevelop relationships with others, and to be involved in their community. Ensures compliance with Chapter 6400Regulations, the Allegheny County Department of Human Services/Office of Intellectual Disabilities, standards for the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals supported by direct care employees in the home. Reports to the Residential Manager.
- Ensures the Organization’s vision and mission statement and the Department’s goal and objectives are
- Ensures compliance with and implementation of the Department’s Policies and Procedures relative to Community
upkeep and maintenance of the home.
- Works all assigned schedules, including but not limited to arriving and departing on time, requesting time off in
supervisor per schedule.
- Completes and maintains all required State mandated training requirements annually.
- Participates in various committees or workgroups as approved.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required.

- Valid and current PA driver’s license, proof of current vehicle registration and insurance.
Staffing Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of assigned home(s) to deliver high quality care
- Trains new Direct Support staff members, ensuring effective on-boarding and successful transition from the
- Communicates individually on a regular basis, to clarify job responsibilities, program purpose, philosophy, and
- Provides guidance, direction, support, and ongoing training, development, and constructive feedback.
- Ensures staff adhere to the appropriate procedures and that the appropriate people, both professionals and
- Schedules and attends team meetings and monitoring visits at the homes.
- Acts as a Practicum Observer per the Medication Administration requirements.
Daily Programming
- Oversees the operations of Residential homes to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Ensures that the homes are clean, safe, secure, and maintained in accordance with acceptable company standards
residential homes.
- Oversees the maintenance of residential home vehicles.
- Oversees and monitors individual finances and documentation of spending.
- Supports the achievement of individuals’ personal outcomes.
- Ensures timely completion and submission of monthly fire drills, weekly house inspections, and monthly house meetings.
- Ensures timely completion and submission of weekly grocery shopping.
- Schedules and attends individuals’ medical appointments ensuring compliance with Chapter 6400 & 6100
- Ensures that prescriptions are refilled and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensures individuals’ rights are protected.
- Treats individuals with dignity and respect.
Communication
- Communicates effectively (face-to-face, verbal, written, digital) and informs the Program Specialist and
- Ensures effective communication with the individuals supported, families, and other people involved in the
- Communicates with Residential Manager when items related to individuals’ personal needs and personal space
- Represents KZL Agency in a professional manner to families, support coordinators, State officials, and community
- Maintains individual confidentiality.
Documentation
- Ensures that all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner such as, but not limited to, all
- Responsible for securing and managing individual cash-on-hand funds and maintaining accurate individual
- Documents individuals’ health (sugar levels, insulin intake).
- Ensures that all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensures Medication Administration Record (MAR) entries are completed daily.
- Ensures that appointment outcomes and documentation are communicated to appropriate parties (ex.
- Responsible for ensuring the documentation of medication administration and submitting medication errors
- Reviews, acknowledges, and completes communication documentation including but not limited to T-logs, Scomms before, during, and at the end of every shift.
On-Call Responsibilities
- Answers phone calls and texts from staff during scheduled on-call shifts.
- Monitors individuals’ health and safety.
- Supervises residential staff.
- Administers medication if staff is not medication certified.
- Maintains all scheduling of staff during non-business hours and responds to situations where scheduling conflicts,emergencies, and/or “call-offs” arise, also coordinates last-minute home visits.
- Works to fill in schedule gaps or call-offs.
- Communicates with the Residential Manager to understand ongoing care needs.
Teamwork
- Treats all individuals and coworkers with dignity, respect, and fairness

- Provides support to other team members when individuals are having behavioral issues
