Pastry Assistant
L.A. Burdick Chocolates, celebrated for its exquisite artisanal chocolates, pastries, and drinking chocolates is hiring a Pastry Assistant to join our team. The Pastry Assistant will be working with our production team making and packing our delectable cookies, European style cakes, pastries, macaroons and more.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with preparing and cooking pastry's and baked goods in high volume
- Preparing dough for pastries and baked goods
- Weighing and gathering ingredients
- Pack baked goods, according to packing specifications
- Restocking and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
- Willingness to assist with other duties as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Knowledgeable in SafeServe standards and/or certification
Skills, Traits and Experiences
- MUST BE RELIABLE
- Commercial kitchen or culinary experience required
- Must be able to follow directions and recipes exact
- Must have basic knowledge and skills of pastry and confectionary work
- An appreciation for aesthetics, symmetry, and standardization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to work longer hours during the busy season
- Must have a positive attitude and work well with others
- Good hand eye coordination
- Ability to stand for the full shift
- Ability to perform repetitive task
- Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
