Kennel Attendant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily care and management of animals in our facility, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
• Support customer service efforts by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and well-being.
• Help with administrative tasks such as maintaining records of animal care and services provided.
• Participate in training sessions for new staff on proper animal handling techniques.

Skills

• Experience as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary setting is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
• Knowledge of pet grooming techniques to maintain the appearance of animals.
• Proficient in animal restraint methods to ensure safety during handling.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or equipment.
• Familiarity with general veterinary practices and procedures is beneficial.
• Competence in animal handling and behavior assessment to ensure safe interactions.
• Experience in dog training or behavioral techniques is a plus.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and welfare.

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
