We are seeking a Live-In Assistant to join us in our first community home in Frederick, MD. Assistants are welcomed as housemates and provide direct caregiving support while building mutual relationships of care and support with adults with intellectual disabilities (known in L'Arche as "core members".) As direct support professionals, they work together with core members in their activities of daily life - preparing meals, caring for their home, money management, personal care needs, medication administration, family and social connections, and support at medical appointments.
- As a live-in assistant, you will be a part of the L'Arche Frederick community and an integral part of the lives of our core members.

This role is based in Frederick, Maryland, living in the L'Arche Frederick home.
No experience is required. All training is provided and training time is compensated.
Qualifications and Expectations:
Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work cooperatively with the L'Arche team to create community and support the growth and wellbeing of each member of the home.
- Assist core members with basic hygiene and health needs, which may include toileting, showering, and personal care.
- Promote core member rights and advocate for their needs and preferences.
- Know and follow core member's person centered plans, completing all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist core members with daily recreational and financial activities.
- Help plan leisure activities, trips, prayer, community nights, retreats, one on one outings with core members.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment, sharing household responsibilities for cooking, maintenance of house and yard, upkeep of community vehicles, and transportation for core members.
- Welcome guests and visitors into the home.
