What are the responsibilities and job description for the CXT Precast-GM, Tennessee Locations position at L.B. Foster Company - Fab Bridge Products?
1. Responsible for the safety of all employees, and for ensuring compliance of all aspects of EHS, and State and Federal regulations.
2. Establish goals, communicate expectations, and build a culture of accountability, commitment, and empowerment; provide motivation, support, and guidance.
3. Develop incentives, cultivate a climate for offering information and opinions and providing developmental opportunities.
4. Responsible for identifying and analyzing KPIs to help improve results.
5. Ensure production is met within budget and action plans developed and implemented to improve operational efficiencies for continuous improvement.
6. Direct and coordinate activities of businesses and departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, customer service and distribution of products.
7. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
8. Interact with executive leadership to report status, challenges and resolve project discrepancies.
9. Develop and build teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members; identify potential in personnel, and sponsor, mentor and ensure development.
10. Responsible for identifying and developing business growth opportunities from existing and new customers within business region and working closely with corporate business development identifying potential mergers and acquisitions.
11. Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations and employees; and enforcing ethical business practices.
12. Using economics within the region, identify new product lines that can be profitably manufactured in current plant to increase product portfolio.
13. Increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers, communicating values, strategies, and objectives.
14. All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Business, or 10 years of related experience required.
- 10 years’ experience in a managerial role in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- 5 years’ experience in a GM role within the precast industry required
Skills and Abilities
- Experience in applying LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S principles
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as group
- Strong decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the Corporation.
- Computer literate and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams); SAP experience, a plus
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and production methods.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promotion and selling products and the related services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and control systems.
- Thorough knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
