Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in managing a high volume of immigration cases, including family-based immigration, employment-based visas, asylum applications, Humanitarian petitions and naturalization processes. The Immigration Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting clients throughout their immigration journey by preparing documents and motions, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions and applications, including but not limited to, family sponsorships, employment visas, humanitarian petitions and naturalization applications.
- Draft legal documents, including affidavits, briefs, motions and correspondence for submission to immigration authorities.
- Conduct detailed case research and gather necessary evidence and documents to support immigration applications.
- Maintain organized and accurate client files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and answer general inquiries regarding their immigration status.
- Monitor and manage case deadlines, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with immigration regulations.
- Prepare case summaries and reports for attorneys to ensure thorough understanding of ongoing cases.
- Assist in the preparation of clients for interviews at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and other relevant government agencies.
- Stay informed on current immigration laws and policies, including changes in legislation that may affect clients.
Qualifications:
* Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; a paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
- Minimum two years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on immigration law highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of immigration processes and procedures, including familiarity with USCIS forms and protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Google Business, and case management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, with a commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with legal research tools and resources.
- Knowledge of e-filing systems and procedures related to immigration law.
