POSITION DESCRIPTION:

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Payroll and 401K Administration, including 5500 filing
- Assists with tasks such as approval of payroll, check runs, benefits administration, etc.
- Act as management and administrative support for site leadership
- Lead or participate in projects as assigned
- Ensure teams are informed and trained on controlling procedures and policies and tools
- Ensure site activities are compliant with Lafarge and Egge financial procedures and internal controls
- Ensure consistency and standardization of controlling processes.
- Alert and arbitrate in case of discrepancies
- Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control and internal auditing.
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of company operating budgets. Check appropriate requests against approved budget for availability of funds prior to commitment and exercise accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized.
- Ensure the coordination of financial forecasting process (budget, periodic forecasts, annual plans)
- Lead all tasks related to month end closing
- Provide a consolidated and divisional view of operations results.
- Analyze and challenge the variances between the forecasted and actual results
- Interpret operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization and make specific recommendations, which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.
- Determine and ensure the follow up and monitoring of the product margins, inventory turnover, costs, and other assigned metrics.
- Utilizing Cap-Ex process and budget, validate the economic justification of investments, ensure implementation and/or financing is on-track, and follow-up as required.
- Validate the economic justification of standard costs and rates used at each site.
- Ensure the consistency between production metrics (Proshop ERP) and financial reporting (Quickbooks).
- Participate in the development of action plans and ensure their financial evaluation and follow-up.
- Actively manage cash position of company through frequent interaction with company management and ownership.
- Ensure budget is launched each year by December 31 and track performance throughout.
- Manage and support the management and executive teams on all financial issues.
- Contribute to internal and external Audits requirement; Responsible for year-end coordination with CPA firm on annual review of financial statements and tax returns.
- Point person on company insurance relationships, including Property/Casualty, General Liability, and ELP
- Point person on compliance reporting with Company’s Bank relationship, including financial covenants and other requests of Bank.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role currently has one direct report: The Office Manager. The Controller frequently engages with the entire employee base and historically, has been a key voice in company matters. The Controller is expected to act with courtesy, professionalism, and as a leader within the organization.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Accounting. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Full cycle accounting
- Payroll
- Benefits Administration
- Banking
- Vendor Management/Purchasing
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Computer Skills:
The Controller will be required on a daily basis to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), ERP system (Proshop preferred), HRIS platform, benefits administration platforms, customer portals, and banking websites.
Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
