Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records in compliance with GAAP standards. The Accounts Payable Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting department.
Duties
- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding to the general ledger.
- Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries regarding payments and account status.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, for tracking and managing accounts payable transactions.
- Assist in month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and financial concepts.
- Collaborate with human resources for any employee-related financial matters.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation related to accounts payable activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable or similar role, with a strong understanding of technical accounting principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field, preferred.
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting practices and GAAP standards.
- Proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks is required.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to accounts payable processes is preferred.
