DRAFT LINE TECHNICIAN
General Description
This position requires an individual with efficiency and is important to the draft merchandising team. Draft Technician will be responsible for maintaining the draft lines clean at all L&F accounts. They will be responsible for special events and assist salesman as required. One main objective is to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with each of his accounts. Employees will cooperate with other employees and members of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales.
This class works under supervision to set procedures on how and when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent most of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position, as necessary.
- Responsible for performing fleet vehicle inspection checklist.
- Must maintain the proper scheduling of their route to ensure timely draft lines are cleaned every (2) two weeks.
- Maintain good stock rotation and fill cooler boxes if one is available during service calls.
- Determine if P.O.S needs repair or replacement.
- Perform draft surveys, such as tap counts, as assigned.
- Know how to read code dates. Check code-dates and rotate products accordingly during every service call.
- Determine close dated products and arrange for proper movement of product in conjunction with driver/salesperson and merchandiser.
- Report any product, sales, or service complaint to your regional manager as it occurs.
- Utilize all P.O.S. materials available to you. Maintain adequate supplies of P.O.S., in vehicle, of all brands.
- Communicate with the Regional Manager on out of stocks and any other issues that are important to the sales process.
- Follow proper lifting procedures.
- Ensure proper cleaning and complete rinsing of draft beer equipment and draft beer lines on a service frequency determined by the brewer.
- Adequately track all line cleaning services using available technology (applications).
- Replace worn or broken draft beer equipment of lines.
- Train to troubleshoot draft beer pouring, caused by temperature, pressure, cleanliness, or equipment problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred; Minimum 1-year work experience in customer service.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal shift hours to accommodate various employee schedules.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Strong team-player and the ability to have a good relationship with co-workers.
Physical Demands
- Must use proper personal protective equipment when dealing with line cleaning chemicals.
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 165 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained operations to lift kegs.
- Employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Exposure to weather and temperature variations.
- To help load/unload beer cases at events and at account locations when requested by supervisor or when deemed necessary in maintaining customer satisfaction.

Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
- Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.
- Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.
- Extreme noise levels
- Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.
- Traffic
- Heights.
- Other extreme hazards not listed above.
Special Certifications and Licenses
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
Reports to: Directly to location and area Regional Manager.
