General Description:
The Relief Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales goals and distribution targets by servicing and developing assigned accounts. This role requires a proactive approach in managing customer relationships, ensuring inventory levels are met, and driving sales through effective communication and product knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sell all products in accordance with company guidelines and TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) regulations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and implementing solutions that help customers sell more products.
- Maintain a strong rapport with all assigned customers through open communication and trust.
- Continuously enhance product knowledge to become an expert resource for customers.
- Apply the salesperson you leave behind concept to maximize sales in each account.
- Schedule and manage routes to ensure all customers are visited regularly.
- Effectively merchandise in all accounts, utilizing displays and point-of-sale (POS) materials.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and reduce out-of-stocks at customer accounts.
- Accurately enter order information into handheld sales enablement software.
- Monitor product freshness at each account, ensuring proper rotation or removal as needed.
- Audit POS condition to ensure brand representation aligns with company standards.
- Complete all required training, seminars, and classes assigned.
- Submit accurate and timely sales, incentive, and other required reports.
Job Requirements:
- At least one year of sales experience.
- A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication skills to effectively understand customer needs and implement solutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Solid knowledge of all brands and products for sale.
Physical Demands:
- Walking, bending, reaching, standing, and squatting.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds for product demonstrations or event setups.
- Travel may require extended periods of driving.
- Ability to navigate various environments, including retail and food service locations.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):
Involves frequent/infrequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:
- Exposure to various retail and food service environments, which may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and crowded spaces.
- Potential for exposure to product samples and promotional materials, requiring adherence to safety guidelines.
- Travel may involve risks, including adverse weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to warehouse settings, where moving equipment and inventory may pose safety risks.
- Other extreme hazards not listed above.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle for business travel. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
- Certified Beverage Professional (CBP), Certified Sales Professional (CSP), food/beverage safety certification(s) (e.g., ServSafe), are a plus!
