Job Summary:
The Asphalt Plant Groundperson will perform various general labor duties, from housekeeping to preventative maintenance to plant repairs, to ensure operations run safely and efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows all company safety and environmental policies and OSHA, FRA, EPA, DOT, and SDDANR.
- Communicate effectively with all team members.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
- Able to perform general labor duties (shovel, clean, grease, repair, load/unload AC).
- Be able to safely use or operate hand and power tools.
- Ability and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment as designed (skidsteer, aerial lift, loader).
- Responsible for housekeeping, including the plant, equipment, and plant site.
- Completes daily inspections on all equipment and plant site to ensure all equipment is in proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Perform preventative maintenance, maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
- All other duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Good work attendance is a must.
- Ability to work safely in a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Relevant technical school education is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, walk for long durations.
- Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
