What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer - Utility Construction (Travel in U.P.) position at L&H Utility Contractors Inc.?
Duties include load/unload equipment, dig holes to expose existing utility lines, feed cable and conduit, learn to safely operate equipment (backhoe, cable plow, hydrovac, concrete saw, etc.), safely secure job site, restore job site (topsoil, seed, mulch, cold patch). On the job training provided with desire to learn and establish a long-term career.
L&H Utility Contractors Inc. is a family owned utility contractors headquartered in Aurora, Wisconsin, who has been providing utility installation services for 32 years. Work location is Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northeastern Wisconsin.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
- Ability to work outdoors and to work in all types of outdoor weather.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry and lift, as needed.
- Ability to dig with a shovel and move dirt, gravel, etc.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (Additional $2.00/hour with Class A CDL)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to maintain equipment and hand tools
- Ability to multi-task and work in a changing environment
