What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Housing Support Assistant (Part-Time- Evenings) position at L.I. Against Domestic Violence?
The Housing Support Assistant will work out of the Safe Harbor Shelter answering the 24 hour hotline, conducting intake screenings for potential residents, tending to the needs of current shelter residents, and overseeing the activities of the shelter.
The hours for this position are: Saturdays and Sundays from 4pm-12am. Our shelter facility is operated and staffed 24-hours a day, this includes holidays. Staff will be expected to work a certain number of holiday shifts throughout the year. There is also opportunity to cover additional shifts.
From time to time, we also house animals in our shelter with their families, this includes dogs, cats, and pocket pets. Shelter staff are not responsible for the direct care of these animals, but they are in the building and therefore a part of the work environment. We like to make this known in the event there are any allergy concerns or other fears/phobias.
Must be able to attend training a minimum of 3-5 days during business hours 8:30am-4:30pm at LIADV's Main Office.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 14 per week
