Day Porter
Report to : Custodial Supervisor
Location : Essex, Maryland
Employment Status : Full-Time
Schedule : Mon - Fri, 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm
Compensation : $18.03 / hour

General Description / Summary : The Day Porter provides day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and support services within the building. They are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the premises throughout the day. Ensures the safety of a facility by promptly addressing any potential hazards like spills or broken glass that might pose a risk to people in the building and contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of a facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Cleans offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Sweep floors using brooms, and mops.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washes door panels and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets.
- Transports trash to the disposal area and recycle it to designated areas.
- Replenishes restroom supplies.
- Responsible for producing quality work.
- Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor
- Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
- Physical stamina and abilities to perform tasks such as cleaning, lifting heavy objects, and being on their feet for extended periods.
- Detail-oriented to ensure that all areas of the building are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Completes and maintains all required training.
- Other duties as assigned
