Since 1983 L.I.F.E. has been serving individuals with varying abilities in community living, meaningful day and medical day settings throughout greater Baltimore, Howard County, and since 2015 in Southern Maryland to include Charles and St. Mary Counties. We are seeking a dynamic Program Coordinator; this individual will report to the Director of Meaningful Day Program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the intake and referral process for all new participants in the Meaningful Day Program. The Program Manager will be the liaison to Maryland Works and the Point Person for Employment Works Program (EWP) ensuring that the participants we support are exposed to various community-based opportunities for employment. The Program Manager will also supervise a team of employment specialist (ES), Direct Support Professional and contract employees. The goal of the Program Manager is to ensure that the program is supporting the person-centered employment needs of the participants we support while expanding the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for Intake/Referral Coordination to include responding to initial inquiries and assisting applicants on the eligibility and funding process
  • Utilize resources to facilitate potential participants for service to include public and private schools, DDA, DDA Service Coordination, Autism Services Coordination, Division of Rehabilitation Services, local DSS, Maryland Works and other stakeholders
  • Point Person for Employment Works Program (EWP) Vendor Contracts and Liaison for Maryland Works Partnership
  • Create new community business partnerships
  • Supervising Employment Specialist (ES), Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and contract support staff/employees.
  • Providing job leads and job fair information specific to individual interests
  • Conducting job readiness, soft skills and skills building workshops
  • Attending and representing agency at job fairs, transition fairs, and other scheduled community events as designated by management team
  • Assisting employees with existing services, LTSS management, data tracking
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Meaningful Day Services


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possession of an AA degree preferred within human services industry or a minimum of two years’ experience in the human service industry.
  • Demonstrate history of training, case management, and/or employment development for persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to administer 1:1 and small group curriculum.
  • Previous experience working with federal, and state regulated and funded programs, such as of the Division of Rehabilitation Services and Department of Disabilities Association (DDA)
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to obtain competence in iCare Manager (iCM), Long Term Support Services (LTSS) Software and other database software.
  • Must demonstrate competence in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
