Human Resources Generalist
With over 125 years of manufacturing high-end, collector-quality, American-made furniture, and nearly as many years as a furniture retailer, L & J G Stickley, Inc., is the proud employer of almost 700 talented individuals across three manufacturing facilities and twelve company-owned Showrooms. As a part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team.
Position Overview:
As a Human Resources Generalist you will partner with managers, leaders and the Human Resources team to develop and implement HR initiatives which impact Stickley's manufacturing and retail workplaces. Areas of focus will include recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, organizational development and others. If you are junior to mid in your HR career and would like to grow and develop this is a fabulous opportunity as you will be surrounded by a strong HR team, with multiple opportunities to hone and enhance your skills and capabilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with stakeholders to provide HR support across key business operations
- Develop and implement workforce plans including recruiting and staffing strategies which optimize the organization's talent acquisition and retention
- Lead employee relation and communication activities which continues Stickley's positive work environment
- Manage employee performance evaluation process, performance improvement plans, reward and recognition and disciplinary actions aimed at ensuring high performance and outcomes
- Educate employees and Managers/Supervisors regarding Company policies and procedures
- Analyze data/metrics aimed at improving both HR and business outcomes; Recommend new approaches to improve results
- Manage HRIS, onboarding and compliance items for particular business area of focus
- Coach and counsel Managers/Supervisors and employees
- Provide employee benefits information to employees and recruits
- Lead and implement projects under guidance of other senior HR team members
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business or Human Resources; plus at least 5 years of experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills; being bilingual or multilingual is a plus
- Possess excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment
