Loader / Local DriverGeneral Description / Purpose : The Loader / Local Driver will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Loader / Local Driver position's time will be split between assisting our Warehouse Department and operating a commercial truck when delivering furniture to our retail customer's homes and / or businesses.Job Responsibilities :
- Loads product on trucks and trailers securely to minimize product damages, maximize vehicle capacity, and maintain stop sequence
- Utilizes blanket wraps, decking materials, nylon strapping, and rubber bands to protect and secure loads as needed
- Assists with order picking and working at various heights
- Works with inventory and inspection teams throughout the loading process to ensure that inventory accuracy goals are achieved and quality standards are upheld
- Scans products during the loading process to ensure that inventory tracking occurs and that accurately recorded
- Reviews the shipping packet and ensures all documentation is included
- Responsible for accurately, reviewing, interpreting, and as required notating manifests and bills of lading
- As needed deliver furniture to retail customer homes and / or businesses
- Operate a commercial truck with a gross vehicle weight rating of 18000 lbs. or greater and must possess a valid commercial driver's license for the size of the vehicle being operated.
- Carry the furniture into buildings with assistance of another driver or driver helper
- Responsible for the safe operation of any vehicle that is driven
- Responsible for ensuring compliance will all federal motor carrier safety regulations, state and federal department of transportation regulations, OSHA, and other applicable state and federal laws.
