Rough Mill Utility Operator

We have a manufacturing opening for an experienced operator at our Manlius, NY facility.
General Description/Purpose:
The Rough Mill Utility A will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Rough Mill Utility A does this by the operation of various mechanical and computer aided machines which require the operator to set up, run and conduct basic maintenance of the equipment and may be required to run one or more than one machine. The Rough Mill Utility A is exposed to high volume of product and is responsible for dimensional and yield accuracy. The Rough Mill Utility A completes these
functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species:
Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers and make grade related decisions on a daily basis
based on established Stickley standards
2. Reports to their supervisor for direction daily and promptly report any questions or problems.
3. Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets and print scan tags as needed
4. Read and Interpret part drawings
5. Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
6. Perform preventive maintenance as required by preventative maintenance sheets and correctly log any
and all preventive maintenance done with any corresponding machine problems and or information
7. Set up work in the safest, most efficient manner per specifications and when no other jobs are noted as
needed line up jobs in a manner that minimizes setup time
8. Assist in off bearing as needed
9. Operate assigned machines and mechanical and computer aided equipment/machines to produce required parts
and pieces and achieve defined production goals
10. Handle a high volume of production through assigned machining centers while maintaining quality and
dimensional accuracy
