Outdoor Discovery Program Instructor- King of Prussia

Outdoor Discovery Programs bring the L.L.Bean brand to life and instills a lifelong love of the outdoors for our participants. Instructors needed for this location: Kayaking SUP Archery Map & Compass Fly Casting Skills and Qualifications: First Aid/CPR training Participates in all required pre- and mid-season training sessions Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and encourage participants Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Established time management and organization skills Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation and positive attitude Knowledge of active gear for the activity you are teaching Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekday evenings, weekends and holidays Preferred: Certification or specialized training in outdoor related activities Proven experience planning, organizing and leading outdoor experience trips Retail experience Course Curriculum: Is willing to develop technical skills and a firm understanding of course content Possesses the ability to teach in a relaxed, clear and confident manner to a variety of participants and skill levels Effectively balances leadership and delivers all components of the curriculum in the allotted time Comfortable speaking to groups while delivering course material Completes daily paperwork Responsibilities: Safety Actively contributes to creating a safe and inclusive environment for participants and colleagues Prioritizes and follows policies and procedures that keep participants safe and healthy Reports all unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment to management Position Expectations Understands and lives L.L.Bean’s core values of Outdoor Heritage, Service, Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Safe and Healthy Living Represents the outdoor education profession at its highest level at all times Committed to actively engaging in all required early and mid-season trainings, check-ins and meetings with ODP leaders Communicates professionally and clearly with supervisor, co-instructors, and participants Accepts feedback from colleagues and makes necessary adjustments Provides professional and timely feedback to colleagues as needed Seeks to learn and share knowledge of skills, interpretive facts, equipment and proper use with peers, colleagues and participants Education Level: High School or GED If you care about the outdoors, joining L.L.Bean is a great way to feel good about what you do.
