Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative dishes that enhance the dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Provide support to dietary aides and catering staff during special events or large gatherings.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook in a fine dining restaurant or similar food service environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and the ability to prepare meals that accommodate various dietary needs.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse kitchen team.
