Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Preparation Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals and ensuring that food is handled safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for the culinary arts and a desire to work in a fast-paced food service environment. Experience in the dietary department, catering, or meal preparation is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Assist cooks in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Handle food items safely and efficiently, following proper food handling procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and ovens with care.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
• Participate in kitchen clean-up duties at the end of shifts.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or a related role within the food industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation processes.
• Familiarity with dietary department operations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
• Must be able to handle kitchen tools such as knives safely and efficiently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
