General Maintenance
Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, performing PMs, or any other duties that may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairing and maintaining dock levers, conveyors, equipment that contains pneumatic, hydraulics..
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of stock required.
- Measure, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal surfaces.
- Ability to problem solve issues with 3 phase motors, and chain driven production lines
- Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
- Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of stock.
- Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
- Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment
- PLC knowledge and experience desirable
- Proficient with documenting work performed & maintaining maintenance records
- Forklift PM and general repairs
- Responsible for the securing and accounting of all maintenance tools and supplies
- General knowledge of basic electricity.
- Or any other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work overtime to include some weekends, holidays, and days off
- Minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience with OSHA regulations a plus
- The ability to weld and fabricate (use torch)
- Knowledge of compressors and industrial grinders
- Self-motivated to stay on task with assignments
- Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulics experience
