What you’ll do: As a Compounding Support, you will complete weigh-up activities, monitor and adjust equipment process based on machine and engineering feedback, assist with providing direction to production technicians, complete require equipment maintenance, assist in counting / maintaining inventory, and cross train in all compounding areas. Perform setup to keep pultruder supplied with all needed materials and set up the next shift with proper materials.
Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
- Perform weigh-ups to keep all Twins/Batch Mixer/CCS supplied with all needed materials and setting up the next shift with proper materials.
- Instruct and assist production personnel on proper procedures and quality standards to produce parts efficiently to ensure 100% on time delivery of finished product, samples, prototypes, engineering changes and kick-offs.
- Maintain machine and equipment in the best condition as possible by:
- Cleaning and AM-TPM for general upkeep.
- Interface and contact proper personnel to resolve machine and equipment issues quickly.
- Cross train on all machines in Twin, Batch Mixing/CCS groups.
- Follow Twin Screw, Batch Mixer and CCS standard operating procedures.
- Perform safety check lists as required (Mixer, Twin, CCS equipment, hilo, hoist, crane, etc.)
- Must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed.
- Participate in meetings, continuous improvement and team activities.
- The associate in this role - will be included in Twin Support job classification for overtime and vacation by L&L seniority.
- Perform other specific projects as assigned by Group Leader.
- Discontinue any operation or activity which is unsafe. Request and/or work with the appropriate personnel to resolve the issue immediately.
- Work with Quality to revise/update paperwork to manufacture Assign production techs to work areas as needed.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing setup and shutdown experience – 1-2 years.
- Computer skills: ERP Oracle, Excel, Word.
- Good communication and precision skills.
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot processes quickly as well as call for assistance as needed.
- Hilo License. Experience with die handling, pressure equipment, fiberglass PPE, carbon fiber precautions, isocyanate handling, safety systems, hot surfaces.

Physical Demands Analysis:
- Frequent lifting or lowering an object from one level to another up to 55 lbs.
- Frequent transporting/carrying an object by hands up to 55 lbs.
- Frequent reaching at or below shoulder and forward.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching.
- Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Frequent contact with fiberglass and carbon fiber during setup, PPE required.

- Frequent handling/proximity to dies >500 lbs. heated to >300 deg F using PPE and hoists.
- Safe use of various saws/cutting devices for test sample preparation.
- Continuously wear required respirator (e.g., N95, PAPR, Half-Face) when performing specific tasks.
