What are the responsibilities and job description for the R & D Assembler position at L&M Brand?
Job Summary: Assemble & Test R&D equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Build and test various types of heat exchangers and test fixtures
- Build, assemble & test prototype and production machinery.
- Observe, guide and assist with training.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Perform work in a safe manner & follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Domestic and international travel possible and could include weekend travel depending on the project.
- Performs related work or job duties as required by supervisor.
- Assist with running tests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:
- Regular in person attendance required.
- Exposed to blueprint reading.
- Ability to follow basic electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Mechanical ability, operate power tools.
- Read tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
- Ability to learn and advance quickly.
- Good at problem solving.
- Self-motivated and can work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English by both written and verbal means and use basic math skills.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug and background test.
- Good attention to detail
- Welding and fabrication ability, including sheet metal
Minimum Qualifications for Application:
- High school diploma or GED with 1-year related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S or Six Sigma
- Microsoft Word
